Two sisters and family of four photo session
As much as I love my job, sometimes I'm just am not in the mood to leave my family and go to a shoot (doesn't happen often though!). But once I show up to my shoot I'm always better and ready to go. On the day of this family's shoot, I had an extra hard time leaving home because my girls were super snuggly and we were enjoying a lazy afternoon. But once this family walked up, little {E} immediately pulled me out of the funk I was in. She has SO much personality and still so sweet! We had a lot of fun together, from skipping down the path hand in hand, to me running after her tickling her. She was so funny, my cheeks hurt by the end of the shoot. If her little sister is anything like she is, their parents are in for an entertaining life!
The {R} family Session
I don't know how many times we have tried to do a session for this amazing family. A couple years ago, we had a session on the books but had to reschedule because of crazy weather and a make up date wasn't working since they were so busy and then it got too cold. This year, we had to reschedule once in the summer because of the family's schedule had something pop up that they had to go to, then we had a super rainy day and had to reschedule again! When the following weekend showed rain again, I was very worried we'd never get to do their session. We prayed and prayed the rain would hold off, and then stop once it started and thankfully we were able to sneak in a quick session within a 1/2 hour time that the rain stopped! Our feet were all soaked by the end of the session, but it didn't' rain on us! It's amazing how fast you can get a session done when the kids are older, haha!
Beautiful family of four - The {B} family
I just love this family! Not only are they clients but good friends. I have been photographing them ever since I started my business. We had a beautiful night for their session, and even though little "H" wasn't entirely feeling the session, we got some great shots!
The "H" family and newborn lifestyle session
I was very excited when a former client of mine contacted me wanting to schedule their annual family photos and that they were expected baby #2! We decided to do an outdoor family session with some lifestyle newborn photos. I usually do posed newborn photos, but I was excited to try this more lifestyle approach. The poses aren't "perfected" but I also love how raw they are; seeing how baby "R" likes to bring her hands right up to her face or see her many expressions as she wasn't quite in a "milk coma" as most of my newborn clients are when I'm working with them. It was definitely fun and I'll have to do more sessions like this in the future! How gorgeous is this family though, I mean, really!
Family of 5 - the {H} family
This past year, I have changed the structure of how I do sessions. For awhile, I was doing only full sessions (which are my favorite because I really get a chance to hang out with families and capture more then the traditional poses and also get a lot of variety), however I was getting a lot of feedback that families really missed my "short" family sessions. Some families have young children and they know their kids won't last 1-2 hours during a shoot (although I try and make it as fun as possible). Since this fall, I have brought back my varied length sessions. It's actually quite amazing how many pictures you can get in just a half an hour! I now have an all inclusive pricing structure and my "short family sessions" include 10 digital images. I show more images in each gallery and offer a chance for families to purchase more then the 10 that is included in their session in case they love them all.
